By default, cPanel lists all the files and directories of your website if there is no index file. This could be a huge security risk should you have any backups or sensitive information saved in your public_html directory.
You can however disable this by choosing No indexes.
To do this, login to your cPanel account and click on the Indexes icon.
Next, select the www folder.
Finally select "No Indexing" and click on Save.
